Our thorough, research-based assessment process ensures an accurate diagnosis and personalized recommendations for treatment and support.

What is ADHD?

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects an individual's ability to focus, regulate impulses, and manage executive functions. It is one of the most commonly diagnosed conditions in children but is also frequently underdiagnosed in adults, leading to challenges in work, relationships, and daily responsibilities.

ADHD presents in three subtypes:

1) Predominantly Inattentive Type → Difficulty with focus, organization, forgetfulness.

2) Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Type → Restlessness, impulsivity, difficulty staying still.

3) Combined Type → A mix of inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity.

Who Should Consider an ADHD Evaluation?

A formal ADHD assessment is recommended if you or your child experience:

For Children & Adolescents:

  • Struggles with paying attention in class, completing homework, or following instructions.

  • Frequent forgetfulness, losing items, or trouble staying organized.

  • Fidgeting, excessive movement, or difficulty staying seated in structured settings.

  • Impulsivity, frequent interruptions, or difficulty waiting their turn.

  • Emotional outbursts or difficulty regulating frustration.

For Adults:

  • Chronic procrastination, difficulty meeting deadlines, or disorganization.

  • Feeling overwhelmed by tasks and struggling with time management.

  • Trouble staying focused in conversations or during meetings.

  • Frequent forgetfulness, losing track of important items (e.g., keys, phone).

  • Impulsivity (e.g., interrupting conversations, difficulty waiting in lines).

  • Difficulty maintaining relationships due to emotional regulation challenges.

Many adults with ADHD were never diagnosed as children and may not realize their struggles with focus, impulsivity, and executive functioning are due to undiagnosed ADHD.

Once the assessment is complete, we provide a tailored action plan to help individuals and families manage ADHD effectively.

For Children:

  • Strategies for classroom accommodations (e.g., IEP/504 Plans).

  • Behavioral interventions and parent coaching for better home management.

  • Support for improving social skills and self-regulation.

For Adults:

  • Time management and organization strategies for work/life balance.

  • Guidance on ADHD-friendly productivity techniques.

  • Therapy and coaching recommendations to improve executive functioning.

Treatment Recommendations:

  • Behavioral therapy and executive function coaching.

  • Medication consultation (if applicable).

  • Lifestyle modifications, diet, sleep, and mindfulness strategies.
